Once it was a railroad. It became abandoned and there was a push convert it to trail, accessible by public. David S. Ammerman was a man who championed this idea.

It runs between Clearfield and Grampian so it was its original name but in 2011 it was renamed.

Because it is built on top of old railroad it is almost flat, so it’s super easy to walk or bike on it.

You can find benches, some of them have a cover, so you can sit down, read, relax and enjoy surrounding beauty.

Between Curwensville and Clearfield trail goes a long of West Branch Susquehanna River, crossing it at some point.

Total length is about 10.5 miles, so it is easy to cover it on bike, but walking will bring you a real joy especially in middle of October when you will be walking through wildest colors of Autumn

By the way, if you forget a book and want to read something, park your car at Clarabell Johnson Steward Memorial Park at Curwensville and you will find a small Library Stand there, grab a book and do not forget to put it back when you will be driving away.
